Teaching Methodology

LTC believes that the best learning happens when a student has an enjoyable experience in a comfortable and enriching atmosphere. We also believe that learning a language is much more than studying grammar, it is an all encompassing experience whereby one is able to expand their own perspective by learning about another culture and way of life. At LTC, we teach communication skills in the context of the contemporary culture, which brings the language experience to life!

Learning is always student- focused and tailored towards the needs and interests of the students. Lessons are creatively taught through explanation, independent discovery, pair work and group work. Every class is designed to make learning fun and practically applicable to daily life.

In our courses, we incorporate the four language skills; Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. The grammatical components are applied in each skill area using proven educational techniques. The teachers issue homework on a daily basis, so that students may review the day’s work. The homework exercises are found in the student’s workbook, which forms part of the course material.

Groups classes have a maximum of 8 students, which allows students to receive personal feedback on their progress. Teachers are in tune with the specific requirements of each student, monitoring their progress on a daily basis and assessing their individual needs and learning styles. In the classroom, we encourage conversation, debate and questions to enhance the learners receptive and productive skills in the language The small class sizes lend themselves to an enjoyable and successful learning experience for each and every student.

Review and assessments are an important component of any learning experience and at LTC regular review and assessment is scheduled into every course. The stop and check tests are issued as homework assignments, with the motive of serving as review for the examinations. Progress tests at the end of the course help students assess how much they have grasped and celebrate their success in their newly acquired language!

After 21 years in the business of teaching of languages, we at LTC are excited to be able to offer fun and enriching language courses to all.
