General English Course + 10 Private Lessons – Study in Cape Town

If you would like to improve your English, please come to study at our English School in Cape Town.  This Course consists of two different types of lessons.  First, you attend group lessons in the morning, followed by English Private Lessons, in order to focus on what you wish to enhance in your communication.

  • General English Lessons run from 09h00 to 12h30.
  • Private lessons run from 13h30 until 15h00.
  • Monday to Friday

The General English Course

The General English Courses are ideal if you want to improve your everyday communication skills and you prefer to study in a class with other students. Small classes and well-trained teachers guarantee fast progress.

The General English Course teaches students the basics of the language including the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening, in addition to pronunciation and English grammar.

The curriculum will cover:

  • Introduction to word classes
  • Understanding of basic English structures and courtesy forms
  • Past, present and future forms, particularly simple and continuous functions
  • Improved listening accuracy
  • Improved basic pronunciation.

We believe in having small classes of 3 – 8 learners as this allows us to facilitate an intimate learning environment.

Our course is open to anyone looking to learn the English language.

About the Private lessons:

As these are Private Lessons, you can advise if you don’t wish to use course material, or if you only want to practice a specific skill in the language, e.g. Speaking, Listening, Reading or Writing.

About the Lessons:

We will provide you the course material in the first lesson.  This usually consists of a book and CD, and you will need to bring your own notebook and pens to class.   We focus on developing all four language skills in the lessons; Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing and strive to make our lessons interactive.  At the end of your course, you will have to write an examination.  Upon successful completion of the examination, you will be awarded a certificate.  Our pass mark is set to 70%, so you must make sure that you study hard!


General English + Private Lesson courses are best suited to those who require to work on their grammar skills, as well as specific language skills, for example, for their jobs.   If you don’t mind studying until 3pm at school every day, Monday to Friday then this course is good for you. 1 – 3 weeks: 380 Euro per week
from 4th week: 350 Euro per week
